This setting can also be changed through the Image Capture Application. Go to the Applications folder and launch Image Capture. Select Preferences from the Image Capture Menu. Click the General button, and select iPhoto from the drop down menu. If you choose Other or No application, you will need to launch iPhoto when a camera is connected.

Organizing Photos All imported images will be downloaded to the Photo Library. This library contains all imported photos. Deleting a photo from the library will delete it from all the albums (see below) as well. Photos can be arranged in a number of ways. Image titles can be provided for future reference. To do so, select a photo and use the information panel (if it is not showing, click the small i) to name each image. To rename a group of photos simultaneously, first select them. Then go to the Photos Menu, and select Batch Change. Here you can change the title, the date or add comments. Use the calendar button to view photos by date and use the key button to find photos that have been assigned a keyword. Use the View menu to view and sort photos by titles, keywords or film rolls. Keywords can be assigned via the Get Info command in the Photos Menu.
The image on the left shows a group of photos and their titles. Each photo can be associated with a keyword. Creating Keywords

Organizing with Albums
Once you have imported your photos, you may wish to organize them by creating albums. All albums will be represented by an icon in the Source List, above. The photo albums contain aliases, or shortcuts to the represented photos in the Photo Library. Deleting a photo from an album will not delete it from the library. Deleting a photo from the library will delete it from all albums.
Tip: To select a group of non-adjacent photos, hold the apple key down as you click. To select a group of adjacent photos, hold down the shift key, then click the first and last photo in the group. To create an album of images on the fly, simply drag and drop a folder of images into the source list (left of the iPhoto window). Editing a Picture Editing changes the original photo along with its album counterparts. If you wish to maintain the original photo, you can make a duplicate by going to Photos/ Duplicate. Edit the copy. You can also revert to an original photo state via Photos/Revert to Original. This choice will only be available on a previously edited photo. Zoom in when necessary using the zoom slider in the lower right hand side of the iPhoto window. To rotate a picture, select it and click the Rotate button in the iPhoto button bar.
To enter the Edit Mode, either select the photo and click Edit in the button bar, or double click the photo. The editing window displays the selected image. The thumbnails (smaller images) at the top of the screen represent other images in the selected album or library. Click a thumbnail to edit it. Tip: After editing images, you must click the Done button (see below).

Printing
iPhoto has many options for printing photos. Select the photos to print, and click the print button on the main button bar.
Creating A Book Perhaps one of the best uses for classroom purposes is the iPhoto book feature. Choose an album with which you would like to create a book. Click Book on the main button bar. Chose a theme and size for your book. It is a good idea to take a look at the different themes before you choose one. For instance, a Picture Book will not supply many places for text. If you plan on having your book printed professionally, click Options + Prices for more information.
iPhoto will ask if the photos will prompt you to click the Autoflow button if you wish to add photos automatically. Otherwise you will need to drag photos on each page manually. iPhoto will switch to the Book Mode and the new book will be saved and placed in the Source List.
From left to right, the icons go as follows: Setting Desktop Pictures and Screen Savers A photo album can be used as a screensaver for your students to learn from and enjoy. iPhoto makes it easy to do this. Set the Screen Saver
Set the Desktop Picture
Email a Photo
More images and larger images will take longer to send and receive. If you have trouble sending your images, try sending fewer or smaller images via multiple emails. Saving (Exporting) Your Photos to Another Disk
At times you may wish to move your photos to another place, such as a disk or server. If you are planning to move the photos via the faculty server, you will have to connect to it first.
If you prefer, you can drag any photo you like out of a library or album into a folder or file. Creating a Web Page
If you are web savvy and would like to post student artwork or other photos on the web, iPhoto will create a web photo gallery for you in a snap!
Creating a QuickTime Movie
